Unbelievable Paintings is a series of paintings you are not allowed to see.
Each work is displayed backwards, accompanied by a small title card explaining what is supposedly happening on the other side.
“Backside of a really decent copy of the Mona Lisa.”
“Backside of a detailed painting of a disgusting phallus. Please don’t look.”
The descriptions offer all the information to start imagining the front of the painting. What exactly that image looks like is left entirely up to the viewer.
